Essential Duties:
Conduct electrical measurements of semiconductor quantum-effect devices at cryogenic temperatures.
Requires good scientific communication skills, a strong work ethic, enjoyment of problem solving, and a natural scientific curiosity. Assist in electrical measurement system development; use cryogenic test systems; develop software for device testing; analyze samples using automated data acquisition equipment; and organize, update, and summarize measurement results.
Requires frequent technical communication with team members, including oral and written reporting.
Required Skills:
Analog and digital electrical circuits, coding, development and use of automated semiconductor data acquisition, data analysis, cryogenic test equipment
Basic principles of low-noise, electrical measurement; basic electronic design and analysis; basic computer skills (spreadsheets, presentations, word processing, and scientific programming)
Statistical analysis; basics of coding, though specific language less important
Semiconductor device physics
Basic quantum mechanics.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or related field
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment. Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship
Must have or be willing to apply for a security clearance
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position $76,530 - $93,320 + bonus + benefits.
